Customer Testimonials

Over the years, I have been privileged to train, breed and sell gundogs to a many happy and healthy homes. Here are a few customer comments.

Lincoln

(2009 Hank X Izzy Litter)

Hello Leo,
Just wanted to send over a couple of pictures of Lincoln.  We are having so much fun with her.  She is a bird hunting fool who shows no fear.  She is growing like a weed.  Your puppies sure have a lot of character. Hope all is well with you.
Sincerely,

Pam Wilkins

Dee Bee's Tinker Belle NA Prize III
(2009 Hank X Izzy Litter)

Hi Leo,

I can’t tell you enough how happy we are with Belle. She is taking to the Whoa training nicely. I will continue with it and move forward as she progresses. Leo, this dog is a bird finding machine! I took her out last weekend, released a couple of quail, and took her for a lengthy walk in order to get her downwind of the birds. It was early morning with just a slight breeze and I saw her pick up the scent 75 yards away. Her nose went straight up vertical into the air and she proceeded right to those birds. She made a beautiful point and I was just tickled. I fired my shotgun twice when I flushed the birds, and she never even turned her head.

Take care and write when you can,

Dick Bastien

Deans Kansas Toby

(2009 Hank X Izzy Litter)

Leo,
I thought I would send you a couple of pictures of the dog we bought from you last Spring (3-17 litter).  He was one of the black and white males and we named him Toby.  It was quite an adjustment having a puppy again after a 10 year gap.  I am pleased to say we have really enjoyed Toby.  He is in the house most of the day when we are home but sleeps in his pen at night.  He was very easy to house break with no accidents afterwards.  Boy has he ever grown!  26" at the shoulder and 70+ pounds. I got him started hunting during dove season,  in on a few ducks, and now really going during our pheasant season.  He has pointed a few by himself but has really worked well with my old brittanys.  He points along side (just getting the backing going) them and is eager to retrive the birds before they can.  We had a little trouble on retriving early on but most of that has been corrected. I hope you are having a good season and saw you have some more pups.  If you ever need a reference have them give us a call or email. By the way, the snow picture was taken today as we got about 7"-good to hunt in.  It looks like you might have a whole lot more!

Sincerely,

Dakota Regen

(Hank X Izzy Winter 2009)

Leo, attached some pictures and note that I sent to some other friends as
well.  I named the pup Regen,  or Dakota Regen on her NAVHDA registration.
We are getting along well.  She has lots of energy, and lets us know when
she needs to go outside.  She does not have the run of the entire house, but
has not had an accident in the area we keep her for quite some time.

Abby
(Hank x Izzy Winter 2009)

Hey Leo,
Tracy Wear here...I think spring might be peaking through a bit and Abby is enjoying all the mud puddles she tromps thru. She is about 30 lbs and listens very well and is a little spoiled (via Brian). She is a joy to have around and just wanted you to know...Brian will be in contact with you about hunting or other stuff re: hunting or dog stuff...I'm more enjoying having her as company when she isn't up to no good...

Brenna Vom L.B. NA Prize I 110
(Hank x Izzy Spring 2009)

Leo,
Brenna is doing well I think.  Of course every dog owner thinks theirs is the best.
I hunted her together with my older wirehair most of the season.  She points and honors very well.  She seems to have a very good nose and air sents which is great in my estimation,  whereas my older dog is more of a ground trailer.  She knows whoa, fetch, kind of understands dead (to search for a wounded bird), comes to her name or my mouth whistle or my locate tone on my electronic collar. I would not be able to take her to a natural ability test, my job just wouldn't allow the time to do it.  However, I would consider you working with her and taking her.  I have never done something like that, how does it work? It will be interesting to see what she does.  I live in town and on our walks every robin she sees is very exciting.
